Tarek Shawky is a dedicated criminal defense attorney with nearly 10 years of experience fighting for clients throughout Southern California in Federal and State Court. During law school Tarek Shawky interned with the Public Defenders Office. He was later hired by the Riverside County Public Defender before leaving to Los Angeles County to work with the Alternate Public Defender. He received his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law where he completed the two year accelerated SCALE Program and was elected President of his class. Prior to Law School he attended UCLA and received a B.A.

Tarek Shawky received his J.D. from Southwestern after completing the two-year accelerated SCALE program (Southwestern Conceptual Approach to Legal Education). He was elected class president and was an active member of the Latino Bar Association, Black Law Students Association, Public Interest Law and the Muslim Law Students Association. He interned with the Public Defender during law school and passed the California Bar immediately after graduating and was admitted to practice in December 2006.
Tarek Shawky completed his BA at UCLA where he studied Economics. He pursued a career in finance and consulting and worked with Arthur Anderson Consulting before starting his own consulting firm. He eventually chose to attend law school to pursue a legal career.
